Veterinary IV – Veterinarians’ interest sparks trials and launch
- 9/26/2011
Informal surveys of veterinarians in 2010 confirmed interest in Acu Rate as an alternative for commonly-used, powered veterinary and human infusion pumps.
Initial testing of Acu Rate compared with a commonly-used powered veterinary IV pump showed that veterinary pumps can deviate very clinically significantly from the desired IV flow rate. By contrast, Acu Rate’s device proved once again that “what you set is what you get”. This finding led Acu Rate to survey veterinarians, mainly veterinarians practicing in the USA, about the need for an alternative, and the practicality of Acu Rate’s devices. The encouraging results have led Acu Rate to accelerate the launch of its veterinary IV devices, and to conduct further veterinary clinical research. Veterinarians recommended the use of Acu Rate – in both single-flow rate and adjustable flow rate – for many common procedures in dogs, cats and equine veterinary medicine.
